One Shot does not collect your personal data. There is no account, no analytics and no advertising. Your photos are analysed on your device and are never uploaded, because the app contains no networking code and there is no server to send them to.
What we collect
Nothing. We operate no servers, no accounts and no analytics. We receive no information about you or your use of the app, and we can never see your photos.
Your photo library
One Shot asks for access to your photo library so it can compare your photos and videos with one another and find duplicates. It asks for full access rather than a selection because a duplicate is a relationship between two items — the app cannot tell you a photo is a copy if it can only see one of the pair.
Your photos are read, analysed and displayed entirely on your device. They are never uploaded, copied off the device, or shared with us or anyone else. You can withdraw the permission at any time in iOS Settings; the app will then be unable to scan, and nothing else about it changes.
What the app stores on your device
- An analysis cache: for each item, a compact numeric fingerprint (an image hash, a colour histogram and quality measurements such as sharpness), along with the item's identifier and modification date, so later scans only have to re-analyse what changed.
- Your settings — match sensitivity, and whether photos, videos or both are scanned.
This cache holds measurements, not pictures. It is kept in the app's own storage on your device, and it is never transmitted anywhere.
Analysis is on device
Image analysis uses Apple's Vision framework, which is built into iOS and runs on your device's own hardware. No model is downloaded and nothing is sent away for processing. One Shot makes no network requests of any kind and works with no internet connection at all — including in aeroplane mode.
Because the app never uses the network, photos whose full-resolution copy exists only in iCloud are not downloaded, and so are not scanned. They are counted and reported with your results.
Deleting photos
Nothing is deleted without you. You review each group and tick what should go, and deletion is then carried out by iOS itself, which asks you to confirm. Deleted items go to Recently Deleted in Photos and stay recoverable for 30 days, exactly as if you had removed them yourself.
What we do not do
- We do not track you, and the app contains no tracking or advertising software.
- We do not sell, share or transfer your information, because we never receive it.
- The app contains no third-party analytics, crash reporting or SDKs of any kind.
Deleting your data
Open Settings inside the app and choose Clear Analysis Cache to erase everything the app has stored. Deleting the app removes its storage entirely. Because nothing is held anywhere else, no request to us is needed — and none is possible.
Children
One Shot is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted at this address with a new date above.
